Non Congruent Interior Angles

This is an Hand M sign. Signs are used as marketing or advertising. Advertising is a way to attract customers. In order to attract customers you have to have a sign that tells them where the store is, thats why people use signs. Signs are found everywhere, some example are stop signs, store signs, and street signs. Signs help people to find their way around. In this particular sign I found non congruent interior angles in the M in Hand M. I highlighted the angles in blue, these two angles are not congruent because they are not the same size. I found my picture at http://www.google.com/imgres?start=29&num=10&um=1&hl=en&client=safari&tbo=d&rls=en&biw=1407&bih=807&tbm=isch&tbnid=VUxEmKY-UCTmzM:&imgrefurl=http://www.mnn.com/your-home/remodeling-design/blogs/how-swede-it-is&docid=DZNbImFTKVofuM&imgurl=http://www.mnn.com/sites/default/files/H%252526M%252520sign.jpg&w=500&h=334&ei=D6GiUPbnAc6L0QHug4CIDA&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=779&vpy=423&dur=976&hovh=183&hovw=275&tx=165&ty=87&sig=114477623219542944043&page=2&tbnh=145&tbnw=228&ndsp=39&ved=1t:429,r:29,s:20,i:91.

Segment Bisector

This is a pie. A pie is a delicious product of the food industry. People eat pies on special occasions like at Christmas, thanksgiving, a family dinner, or sometimes just for a nice dessert. You can find pie's in grocery stores, bakeries, or in your oven. People love to eat a delicious pie. I notices that the crust of this pie makes criss cross segments. I used the crust to make a segment, and noticed the other crust segments bisected my line. So I highlighted how my crust segment was bisected. A segment bisector is a line, ray, or segment that divides a segment into two equal parts. I found my pie picture at http://www.google.com/imgres?um=1&hl=en&client=safari&tbo=d&rls=en&biw=1407&bih=807&tbm=isch&tbnid=ae9a1eEmcEqjVM:&imgrefurl=http://www.networkoffood.com/pies/lynns-cherry-pie/&docid=Fj2IUGf-3wInkM&imgurl=http://www.networkoffood.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/cherry_pie.jpg&w=480&h=360&ei=p52iUMSWErGG0QHy0oCYBA&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=156&vpy=191&dur=2172&hovh=194&hovw=259&tx=210&ty=101&sig=114477623219542944043&page=1&tbnh=145&tbnw=205&start=0&ndsp=27&ved=1t:429,r:1,s:0,i:141.

Skew Lines

This is a picture of the singer Rihanna's album. An album cover represents the tone of the music inside of it. When people go to iTunes, or go to a store to buy music they can look at the cover to see what album it is and what kind of music is inside.  This picture represents the music industry, because it is an album. The music industry makes money by selling concert tickets for artists like Rihanna and they make albums to sell just like this one. Albums have music in them for people to listen to and enjoy. In the top right corner I highlighted two of the lines in the R. I noticed that these two lines are skew lines because they are not parallel and they do not intersect. I found this picture at http://www.google.com/imgres?um=1&hl=en&client=safari&tbo=d&rls=en&biw=1407&bih=807&tbm=isch&tbnid=liMO7SI7t0cMsM:&imgrefurl=http://hiphop-n-more.com/2011/11/rihanna-talk-that-talk-album-cover/&docid=yVJSpYKQrEe0IM&imgurl=http://hiphop-n-more.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/rihanna-talk-that-talk-deluxe.jpg&w=497&h=497&ei=I5qiUOvfE-XL0AHg0YCACg&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=4&vpy=293&dur=704&hovh=225&hovw=225&tx=86&ty=124&sig=114477623219542944043&page=1&tbnh=136&tbnw=135&start=0&ndsp=23&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0,i:80.

Supplementary angles that are not a linear pair

This is a sunrise with beams of light streaching across the sky. You can find a sunrise every morning in the sky. A sunrise is the sun coming up for the day to travel across the sky. People us the sun for light to grow foods, and to get necessary vitamins. I noticed that the beams of sunlight in the sky make supplementary angles that are not a linear pair. A linear pair is TWO angles that are adjacent an supplementary. The angles I made out of the beams of light are THREE supplementary angles, so they cannot be a linear pair. I found this picture at http://www.google.com/imgres?um=1&hl=en&client=safari&sa=N&tbo=d&rls=en&biw=1407&bih=807&tbm=isch&tbnid=tpzpqxVQjjLFVM:&imgrefurl=http://www.universetoday.com/17934/sunrise/&docid=hOyH1Oz17aADbM&imgurl=http://ut-images.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/sunrise.jpg&w=350&h=263&ei=hJWiUKCDLerd0QHVo4CYCA&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=386&vpy=187&dur=1035&hovh=195&hovw=259&tx=143&ty=114&sig=114477623219542944043&page=1&tbnh=139&tbnw=196&start=0&ndsp=24&ved=1t:429,r:2,s:0,i:147.

Adjacent Non Supplementary Angles

This is a picture of a snowflake. Snowflakes fall from the sky and lang on the ground, a large group of snowflakes on the ground is called snow. Snowflakes and snow can be found anywhere with a temperature of 32 degrees or lower.Children love to play in snow, make snowmen, go sledding in snow, and have snowball fights. In the snowflake I highlighted adjacent non supplementary angles. Adjacent angles are angles next to each other, and supplementary angles are angles that add up to 180 degrees. So i noticed that this snowflake made two angles, and they do not add up to 180 degrees. This photo is found at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:P_snowflake.svg.

Vertical Angles

This is a picture I took of my brother in a nurse hat. On the hat is a cross, this cross is not only a vertical angles but it is a symbol for the medical industry. A red cross in wartime was a symbol for medical personal, so now everywhere there are people to help the wounded there are red crosses. That's why on hospital signs there are red crosses. A red cross is not only the symbol for medical personnel , it is a vertical angle. Vertical angles the congruent angle opposite each other when two lines cross. So there are two sets of vertical angles in the cross sign on my brothers hat.

Angle Bisector

This is a clock. A clock is used to tell time throughout the day. People everywhere use clocks to manage thier time in their day especially at work. On the clock their are three hands, the hour, minute, and second. I highlighted the hands in pink. This clock does not only tell us the time but it also represents an angle bisector. An angle bisector is an angle cut in half, in this example the angle is cut in half by the minute hand. This is an original picture.

Congruent acute angles

This is a photo I took of my brothers birthday cake. You will notice I highlighted the two acute angles of the triangle, these two angles are congruent. This may be just a birthday cake used for celebration the birth of a child but it represents more than that. This cake has a fire truck on it. Fire trucks help to keep people safe every day from fires. This post is not only an original but it is specific to the security industry, because a firetruck keeps people safe and helps the firefighters to stop the fires.

Line Perpendicular to a Plane

This is one of my childhood photos of me and one of my friends playing with umbrella's in the rain. As I looked over this photo I realized that umbrellas cannot only be used as a protection from the rain or a fun play toy, but it can also be a line Perpendicular to a plane. As you can see the line of the umbrella handle is perpendicular to the umbrella. The umbrella acts as the plane and the handle, the line. You can find an umbrella in your coat closet, and in stores. An umbrella is not only a protection from the rain but can be a fashion statement when bright colors and designs are on them. Who Knew that umbrellas could have so many uses in the real world and in the geometry world.

Coplanar Parallel Lines

This is an photo of a pool with swim lanes in it taken by me. Each lane has the same legnth and size to make it fair for each racer in the competition. The lanes can be seen as parallel coplanar lines in a geometry wizards point of view. I highlighted 3 of the coplanar parallel lines in yellow.
